A local man says he's furious after a trucker apparently got lost, drove down his street and cause damage to his house. He's upset because he says no one will take responsibility for the repairs.

Rodney Rose says he couldn't believe the damage done to his Lawrenceburg home. It all happened a few weeks ago while he was away at work. A neighbor said he saw a semi truck going down their street.

RODNEY ROSE: "I guess apparently he realized he made a wrong turn and he was acting kind of erratic. He might have been made. He went down that way somewhere and he turned around. When came back he caught my wire right there. It ripped everything lose from up there as you see. Just ripped it all down."

Rose says there's not only damage to his siding, but part of the roof is affected as well.

ROSE: "As soon as I got home I called the trucking company and they sent an insurance investigator out. He looked at it and said it wasn't their fault the wire was hung too low to begin with."

The wire had been put up years ago by an old cable TV company-- and the new cable company says it has nothing to do with its installation. But Rose, a truck driver himself, says that truck should not have been on this street.

ROSE: "There's not supposed to be anything over 12,000 on this road. IT'S CLEARLY MARKED? On both ends."

Rose says the cost to repair all this is about $300, that's using the existing siding. But he's got a $500 deductible on his homeowners insurance. He says he should not have to pay for this.

ROSE: "I'm right in the middle of selling my house and everything like that and this thing happens here and nobody wants to stand up. Nobody wants to say hey we'll take care of it."

The sheriff's office took a report but didn't cite anybody for the incident. So I told Rose to get a written estimate for the repairs, then file suit against the trucking company for that amount in small claims court. I told him to be sure to bring plenty of pictures of both the damage -- and of the signs prohibiting big trucks on the street. Then let the judge decide who's responsible.
