Police are looking for a man who stole a purse from an open car at a Monroe day care center.
The man took the purse from a running, unlocked van at the Mount Pleasant Day Care Center around 8 a.m. Monday. The victim had run inside the day care to drop off her son. The purse contained check books, debit cards, case, credit and gift cards.
The suspect was caught on security camera at the Middletown Walmart that same morning buying cigarettes, 200 blank Cd's, and two DVD sets. Police say he used the victim's credit card and signed her name on the slip. Officers also point out the victim has an "obviously feminine name".
The man also used the cards to buy cigarettes at a Middletown gas station. Later he went to two Home Depot locations, one in West Chester and one on Bypass 4, where he bought a tile saw, a water heater and some breath mints.
The suspect was driving a green Chevy truck. He's a white male in his late thirties-early forties, clean shaven, and of average height and weight.
If you know who the guy is, call Crimestoppers at 352-3040 or Monroe Police Detective Ken Parson at 513-464-0572.
